Fine Wins Florida's 6th District
State Senator Randy Fine (R-FL) has defeated Democrat Josh Weil in the Congressional District 6 special election in a narrow special election. Thirty minutes after polls closed, Fine held a commanding eight-point lead. Early on, after polls closed, Weil controlled two counties (St. Johns and Volusia), but they eventually flipped back red for a GOP sweep, county-wise.
State Sen. Fine received prominent endorsements from President Donald Trump (R) and gubernatorial candidate and Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL).
The seat to represent CD-6 was held previously by Mike Waltz (R-FL), who resigned from the U.S. Congress to become President Trump's National Security Advisor. The district is approximately 2-to-1 in favor of Republicans, but early vote turnout only favored Republicans by nine points.
Does Texas have a constitutional right to defy Supreme Court on protecting its border?
Republicans were worried that this race would be a steal opportunity for Democrats to shrink the already-thin majority in the House of Representatives, but the GOP has held firm in a prominently Republican district.
During the 2024 election, early vote turnout was +29 in favor of Republicans. However, Early voting showed that Republicans had only a nine-point advantage over Democrats.
The nine-point cushion might've sounded somewhat comforting to Republicans. However, with the GOP already leading voter registration by more than 20 points in the congressional district, one can logically conclude that Republicans simply did not turn out.

Senator Ruben Gallego: Thank you @SenBooker for the strength and determination you’ve shown over the last 25 hours. This fight won’t be easy, but you’ve shown this country what it means to stand for what we believe is right. Proud to be your colleague and friend.
Representative Andy Biggs: NEW from @realDailyWire: I'm asking @ElonMusk and @DOGE to investigate the exorbitant salaries of Planned Parenthood's C-Suite. American taxpayers should never be forced to fund the cozy lifestyles of abortion factory executives.
Representative Eli Crane: Cory Booker gave a really long speech. About something. Stopping nothing. President Trump secured the border in less than 60 days. One seems better than the other.
Representative Abe Hamadeh: Republican-led states are proactively removing illegal aliens from voter rolls. Sadly, Arizona is captured by the radical left & REFUSES to secure our elections. That's what makes The SAVE Act so important. Congress can fix this at the federal level.
Representative Greg Stanton: The Phoenix area is growing fast, but the support we get from the federal government for affordable housing hasn’t kept up. We’re introducing the Housing Vouchers Fairness Act to make sure Arizona gets its fair share.
Representative Yassamin Ansari: Republicans just fired all of the people who run the LIHEAP program which makes energy bills more affordable for working people. They are literally erasing the programs that lower costs. This was never about making things more affordable, all they want is to make their billionaire donors richer at your expense.
AZ Attorney General Kris Mayes: By slashing these public health grants, the Trump administration has launched an all-out attack on Arizona’s public health system—harming the entire state, but hitting rural communities the hardest.
State Senator Jake Hoffman: Tom Horne is the greatest threat to school choice & the ESA program in Arizona. Tone Horne will lose to the Democrat in the 2026 general election. Arizona needs a strong, pro-school choice candidate for this very important office. I’m working on identifying that candidate now.
State Representative Michele Pena: The House Bill 2439 that I am co-sponsoring requires the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) to provide a conspicuous link on the agency's public website that directs a person to adoption information and support for pregnant women.
State Representative Consuelo Hernandez: My 2 bills passed out of appropriations committee today! Thank you for your support. Closing gaps in our mental health system for our severally mental ill, and low income families.
State Representative Nick Kupper: Today my first bill passed out of the Senate & is headed to the Governor’s desk! While it was my only partisan bill, it shouldn’t be a partisan issue. This bill conforms to existing federal law & protects all Arizonans from being mandated to use unapproved medical products.
Maricopa County Supervisor Debbie Lesko: I had the privilege of giving an update to the Property Owners Residents Association in Sun City West. Thank you - as always - for the opportunity to talk with your members.
