State Senator Jake Hoffman (R-15) urged President Donald Trump to drop his endorsement of Karrin Taylor Robson (R) for governor in the 2026 Arizona gubernatorial election, citing her supposed work as a lobbyist for a leftwing activist group in the past.
In a lengthy X (formerly Twitter) post made Sunday evening, Sen. Hoffman said, "ATTENTION: @realDonaldTrump "Karrin Taylor Robson has been a registered lobbyist for clients including... in 2018, for ultra-liberal advocacy group Chicanos Por La Causa Action" (CPLCA) source: Arizona Globe."

Does Texas have a constitutional right to defy Supreme Court on protecting its border?
The Arizona Globe outlined Robson's previous work for the group, which was revealed as part of Sen. Hoffman's wider effort to bar anyone who worked as a paid lobbyist within two years of running for a statewide office.
Sen. Hoffman described Chicanos Por La Causa Action as an "Open border "immigrant rights organization [anization]" that "Fights for "racial equity" (i.e., cultural Marxism); Opposes Trump's Border Wall; opposes citizenship question on 2020 census; and Advocates for Tuition Amnesty for illegals at AZ Public Universities," among other activities.
"There is NO EXCUSE for a 'Republican' candidate for governor having lobbied for this radical, far-Left organization," The Arizona State Senator continued, further claiming that Robson "surrounds herself with [people who] are Never-Trumpers who celebrate the lawfare against you, and district court judges that are trying to destroy [Trump's] agenda."
"Arizona Republicans and Trump supporters demand far better than a Karrin as our nominee," Hoffman concluded.
The State Senator also posted a brief clip of Robson speaking with journalist John Hook, in which she suggested that Trump is a "drag" on the Republican Party, saying, "There are fashion do's, and there are fashion don'ts. Trump used to be a fashion do, and now, overnight, he has become a fashion don't."

Although the Republican gubernatorial primary is not until August 2026, Hoffman's scathing post is likely to leave a lasting impression.
