Crane, Cuba, and China

Representative Eli Crane (R-AZ) demanded answers on the ongoing relationship between China and Cuba in a recent House Homeland Security Committee hearing, asking how it could affect the United States.

Since 2023, alarms have been raised as the Chinese have supposedly built military installations in Cuba for spying on the United States.

"So just to get this straight," Rep. Crane began, "We have the Chinese partnering with Cuba, both communist countries, and Cuba is what, roughly 90 miles from the United States? Are we able to discern through satellite imagery, human intel, and signal intel what the capabilities of this technology located on the island of Cuba?"

Representative Andy Biggs: “It’s not illegal to commit a crime,” -U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett, paraphrased. 8 U.S.C. § 1325.

Representative Eli Crane: Confirm Ed Martin.

Representative Juan Ciscomani: I am thrilled to see H.R. 1912, the Veteran Fraud Reimbursement Act, which I co-led with @GerryConnolly, pass the House! This bipartisan bill would ensure that veterans are swiftly reimbursed in case they are defrauded out of the benefits they earned.

Representative Abe Hamadeh: Have you gotten your REAL ID yet? The deadline is May 7.

Representative Greg Stanton: Expelling qualified, capable and dedicated troops undermines our military readiness—and it's a slap in the face to the trans service members and veterans who put their lives on the line for this country.

AZ Attorney General Kris Mayes: Another win today. The court blocked the Trump administration’s illegal attempt to slash funding for libraries and museums in our lawsuit filed a couple weeks ago. These cuts would hit rural and Tribal communities hardest

State Senator Janae Shamp: As a Republican Senator for District 29 since 2023, I’ve been fighting for stronger border policies to uphold law and order in Arizona. Thank you @CortesSteve for sitting down to discuss this crisis. A crisis that affects every American. #everystateisaborderstate

State Representative Rachel Keshel: It’s that time of session again. How many times do we have to say no to crappy legislation?

State Representative Nick Kupper: My bill to protect children from online pornography just passed out of the Senate & will now head back to the House for a final vote. I’d like to thank all my GOP colleagues & while I’m extremely disappointed in most of my Dem colleagues I want to give a special thanks to senator Sears for her yes vote. She was clearly the only Dem voting today who actually reads bills & cares about children.

State Representative Walt Blackman: ZERO TOLERANCE: I Voted YES on HB2678 to Protect Arizona’s Kids This is a WAR against child exploitation. HB2678 is a no-excuses, anti-child pornography bill that closes dangerous loopholes and crushes the tactics predators use to get around the law. If it looks like a child, it is a child. Period. No more hiding behind fake images. No more legal gray areas. We’re locking the door and throwing away the key. Arizona will not be a safe haven for those who prey on our kids. This is about protecting the innocent—and making damn sure predators pay the price

Maricopa County Supervisor Debbie Lesko: I voted to block Recorder @azjustinheap's misguided plan to send rural CD7 voters a ballot whether they requested it or not. I opposed it when Democrats in Congress tried this & I'm opposed now. This action sets a very bad precedent for election integrity.
