Gallego's Bill to House Disabled Homeless Vets

Senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) has introduced bipartisan legislation to house disabled homeless veterans.

Specifically, the Housing Unhoused Disabled Veterans Act (HUDVA) permanently excludes veterans' disability payments from income for housing assistance eligibility purposes required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Program.

"It is devastating when I see fellow veterans on the streets. Arizona is in the midst of a housing crisis, and it is too often our disabled veterans who are impacted most," said Sen. Gallego in his press release, adding, "This bipartisan bill makes a simple, commonsense fix to get more disabled veterans into safe, affordable housing, and I'm proud to give it my support."

Senator Ruben Gallego: Families in Arizona are already stretching every dollar at the grocery store. Now Congressional Republicans want to slash food assistance by billions of dollars just to give tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy.

Representative Andy Biggs: The Leftstream Media will never report that border crossings are down 99.1% under President Trump. TDS is so strong that the Left can't acknowledge @POTUS's amazing success.

Representative Eli Crane: For decades, the world ripped off America because our "leadership" turned a blind eye to manipulation. Fortunately, we now have fighters in key positions like @RealPNavarro. The media's outrage is laughable considering their silence on outsourcing and one-sided trade deals.

Representative Juan Ciscomani: ICYMI: Last week, my bill, the Prioritizing Veterans’ Survivors Act, passed the House unanimously. This bill moves the Office of Survivors Assistance within the Office of the VA Secretary to ensure the needs of veterans’ survivors are prioritized!

Representative Abe Hamadeh: Nvidia’s Blackwell chips have already started production at TSMC’s chip plants in Congressional District Eight. This additional investment secured by the Trump administration is another win for the American people.

Representative Greg Stanton: Trump's decision screws over Arizona. By ripping up this trade agreement, he'll cost our state's economy more than $3.4 billion. He'll put 22,000+ Arizonans out of work. And he'll raise tomato prices by more than half, at a time when we should be working to lower costs.
Representative Yassamin Ansari: Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and DOGE have no interest in efficiency–all they're doing is gutting programs that families, seniors, and veterans rely on so they can give tax breaks to their billionaire friends. It’s unacceptable.
Governor Katie Hobbs: As a working mom, I know how hard it is to balance work and child care. It’s unacceptable that AZ families pay more for child care than in-state college tuition. My Bright Futures AZ plan will cut child care costs by two-thirds and boost our economy.
AZ Attorney General Kris Mayes: I'm committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that the actions of the Trump administration are constitutional. Learn more about what my office is doing to protect Arizonans at azag.gov/press-releases.
State Senator Janae Shamp: Thanks to the unanimous support of HB2164 by the Arizona State Legislature and the Executive branch, our school lunches just got healthier for our kids!!! Thank you @SecKennedy @calleymeans @Leo4AzHouse @RobSchneider @DanicaPatrick @azedschools Together we are Making Arizona Healthy Again!
State Representative Alex Kolodin: ENDORSEMENT ALERT I'm thrilled to also announce that Representative Justin Olson has endorsed me to be Arizona’s next Secretary of State! As a lifelong conservative, Chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means and Vice Chairman of the Committee on Appropriations, Justin knows what it takes to lead. I’m honored to have his support. STATEMENT FROM REP. JUSTIN OLSON: Alex Kolodin is one of the smartest people I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with during my time in public office. He’s thoughtful, articulate, and principled, but most importantly he is committed to doing what’s right for the people of Arizona above all else. There is no one better for the office of Secretary of State than Alex Kolodin. He has my full support.
State Representative Leo Biasiucci: Breaking News! My bill, HB2164: banning of ultra processed foods in school meals, was just signed into law in Arizona! #MAHA
