Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) has introduced a resolution signaling Congressional support for President Donald Trump's deportation of illegal alien gang members, saying, "Congress must stand behind President Trump as he works to fulfill the demands of the American people to secure our border and restore safety to our communities."

The resolution focuses on the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua (TdA), whose members and affiliates in the United States as illegal aliens have perpetrated numerous crimes, such as the murders of Laken Riley and Jocelyn Nungaray, the occupation of at least one apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado, and other offenses. Such attacks on American citizens have led the Trump Administration to label the gang a foreign terrorist organization (FTO).

As a result, Rep. Biggs's resolution recognizes TdA as alien enemies invading the United States, affirming that Trump has the executive authority under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to deport them en masse.

Does Texas have a constitutional right to defy Supreme Court on protecting its border?

"Tren de Aragua is a foreign terrorist organization, and their members can no longer be permitted to wreak havoc on U.S. soil," said Rep. Biggs in his press release, adding, "The Alien Enemies Act gives the President of the United States the authority to detain and deport aliens from foreign adversarial nations, and the U.S. Supreme Court affirmed that authority yesterday."

The Arizona Congressman referred to the recent Supreme Court decision ruling that Trump had the authority to deport illegal aliens under the 1798 law after Judge James Boasberg ordered the planes carrying suspected TdA members to El Salvador to turn around in mid-March.

Biggs continued his statement, "Members of the violent gang Tren de Aragua illegally invaded the United States during Joe Biden's four-year open border campaign, and President Trump is acting well within his authority to protect our homeland. Congress must stand behind President Trump as he works to fulfill the demands of the American people to secure our border and restore safety to our communities."

Fellow Arizona Republican Representative Eli Crane (R-AZ) commented on the resolution with the Daily Signal, saying, "For years, murderous gangs, including Tren de Aragua, inflicted terror on our communities with no repercussions. Thankfully, President Trump and his team continue to make historic progress towards ending this era of tragic lawlessness. I'm grateful for Rep. Andy Biggs' leadership, and I'm proud to support his commonsense legislation to recognize these criminals as alien enemies."
