Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) spoke on his "Verdict" podcast about the latest tariffs that have been implemented against countries worldwide. The Texas senator shared that he has heard from foreign governments concerning President Donald Trump's (R) tariffs and that his advice to them is to deal with the U.S. immediately, as he believes America sits in a position of strength.
Sen. Cruz began by saying the opportunity for the Trump White House is immense.
"There is a historic opportunity here, and if the White House capitalizes on this opportunity, it could prove to be one of the most significant, one of the most powerful moments for U.S. economic interest for American workers this country has ever seen," said Sen. Cruz.

He also mentioned that foreign nations are "freaking out" from the tariffs, which leads to more opportunity for the United States.
"Right now, every country that is on the receiving end of these tariffs, they're freaking out. They're panicking. This is a great opportunity to engage in 'Let's make a deal,'" said Cruz.
Furthermore, after playing a clip from the head of the National Economic Council, Kevin Hassett, who shared that more than 50 countries have engaged in tariff talks, Cruz mentioned that he's talked to these foreign governments as well, and offered them advice.
"More than 50 countries, and that's just in a few days. And listen, I've had a lot of countries that are reaching out, talking to my office and my advice to them is go cut a deal. Go cut a deal, and the front half of your deal needs to be the tariffs that we've imposed against U.S. goods, against U.S. crops, against U.S. livestocks, against U.S. cars, against U.S. manufacturing, against U.S. services; all of those tariffs we are going to slash," said Sen. Cruz.
The Texas senator recently defended his seat against former Representative Colin Allred (D-TX).
Senators Rick Scott (R-FL), Ted Cruz, and Thom Tillis (R-SC) recently introduced a bill to ensure federal agencies purchase American flags made in the United States. The legislation is known as the Make American Flags in America Act of 2025 and would also close the loophole for Chinese manufacturers to advertise their American flags as American-made.
