Americans for Prosperity's Arizona chapter celebrated the recent passage of SB1627 in the Arizona State Senate. This bill requires the public to have viewing access to state regulatory agencies' rules and guidance.

Introduced by State Senator Shawnna Bolick (R-2), AFP-AZ says the legislation "restores transparency first implemented by the first Trump Administration that was overturned by President Biden."

In a statement, State Deputy Director Jared Gorshe said, "Thanks to Senator Bolick’s leadership and support from Senate Republicans, Arizona is one step closer to restoring transparency to Arizona’s regulatory bodies. We know that sunshine is the best disinfectant, and Arizonans deserve to have easy access to the rules and guidance coming from state agencies. We look forward to continuing our support for this bill in the House and educating Arizonans about the need for more transparency and accountability when it comes to regulations."

Does Texas have a constitutional right to defy Supreme Court on protecting its border?

AFP-AZ has made its presence known in the Grand Canyon State, such as the April 2024 "Free the Tamale" campaign urging for the signing of HB2509, which legalized the sale of hot homemade dishes by cottage vendors after a food handling and safety course.

"Despite being a widespread practice, it is illegal in Arizona to sell hot homemade food. H.B. 2509 would legalize the sale of popular, hot homemade dishes like tamales and tortillas. Cottage food vendors would be required to take a course on food handling safety and then would be allowed to sell their culinary delights to hungry Arizonans," AFP-AZ previously said about the bill.

In May and June, the group ran a "Bidenomics" campaign demonstrating the effects of the Biden-Harris Administration's economic policy.

May saw their "Fuel Up for Freedom" event, where they sold gasoline at a discount, reflecting the average price of gas during the first Trump Administration.

Then in June, they offered a free film screening of the family film IF at the AMC Ahwatukee 24 theater in Phoenix, which their blurb said was "part of Americans for Prosperity’s nationwide Bidenomics campaign to connect Americans with the root causes of inflation and hold lawmakers accountable for rubber stamping President Biden’s inflationary agenda."
