Representative Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) suggested that the Democratic Party is "turning much more communist" during a recent discussion on The Afternoon Addiction with Garret Lewis, which he posted on social media.

Democrats' Affordability Push

Rep. Hamadeh began by noting the apparent irony of Democrats making affordability a central focus of their midterm campaigns, saying, "You cannot tell me a city or state that is more affordable that is run by Democrats. You can't. All of them are miserable, and they made it happen."

He considered California the prime example, noting, "Only a Democrat could turn California, which was once paradise, into the place it is now, where you have homeless on the streets; you've got needles on the streets. They are trying to go after the wealthy right now by doing these taxes."

'What We Are Fighting'

As a result, Rep. Hamadeh said that this means "we have to understand when we are out there what we are fighting. The Democrats are turning much more communist."

He went on to suggest that the popularity of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the support it enjoys among members of Congress is alarming, since "it is very revolutionary what they believe in."

"They want to abolish the U.S. Senate; they want to abolish the executive," the Arizona congressman claimed. "I mean, this is the march towards Marxism that we are facing."

'State Races Matter'

But this leftward shift, Hamadeh concluded, is "why the state races matter. That's why these local races matter."

"One good that came out of COVID, back six years ago, is that people started paying attention to local races, which is good because now they know what is going on in these school districts," he emphasized, finishing by saying that "It is going to take us awhile to get us out of this mess, but at least we have identified the problem."
