Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) strongly condemned Democrats' apparent refusal to de-escalate anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) rhetoric after the fatal shooting of a protester in Minneapolis in a recent House hearing.
Rep. Biggs posted the clip to X (formerly Twitter), saying, "The incident in Minneapolis is a direct result of Democrats' continued demonization of agents who are simply enforcing the law. Stop inciting violence against law enforcement."
Within the clip, Rep. Biggs continued, "There has not been one Democrat that I have heard since ICE has been enforcing the law, one Democrat at any level of government; local, county, state, federal, that has said to people: 'We do not like what ICE is doing, but you have to de-escalate the attacks on ICE.' What is ICE doing?"
Additionally, he emphasized that Democratic officials have never urged anti-ICE protesters to "step back, stand down, stop attacking, stop doxxing, stop obstructing, stop inciting violence, stop inciting illegal conduct. I have not heard one Democrat urge the public to obey orders of law enforcement."
"What I have heard," the Arizona Congressman concluded, "is that Democrats have said, 'Oh, they are wearing masks.' They should be frightened of ICE."
In June, Biggs condemned House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) for vowing to unmask ICE agents, saying, "The House Minority Leader threatened to dox our courageous @ICEgov agents for protecting our communities. Democrats continue to be pro-crime and anti-law enforcement."
Later in July, he blamed Democrats for inspiring two armed ambushes of ICE officials in Alvarado and McAllen, Texas, saying, "This act of terror was fueled by Democrats' vocal hatred of immigration law and our great ICE agents. Threats to harm or dox law enforcement officers, especially those made by elected officials, must stop. May God protect our law enforcement officers."
The Alvarado attack saw ten armed ambushers arrested, while the McAllen attack resulted in the gunman being killed.
