State Representative John Gillette (R-30) branded Representative Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) a "traitor" for allegedly seeking to help Cuba evade President Donald Trump's oil blockade in a recent social media post, demanding she face the "maximum penalty."

Conservative influencer Libs of TikTok shared footage of Rep. Jayapal speaking at a press conference in Seattle, writing in a caption, "Democrat Rep. Pramila Jayapal admits that she is communicating with foreign countries to supply Cuba with oil, despite ongoing U.S. sanctions to limit oil imports. Seems a little like treason to me."

In her remarks, Rep. Jayapal says, "I know other countries in Latin America are trying to figure out how to get oil there, but it is a crisis beyond imagination."

In response to Libs of TikTok's post, State Rep. Gillette wrote, "Is this a Logan Act violation, did she register as a foreign agent?"

"This [sic] Communists supporting traitor should get the full attention of the DOJ," State Rep. Gillette commented. "If found guilty, the maximum penalty need be applied."

The Mohave County Representative is not the only Republican calling for action against Jayapal, as Florida Senator Ashley Moody (R-FL) also responded to the footage in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria.

"Treason is outlined right there in our Constitution. You cannot give aid or comfort to enemies. It is also a statute," Sen. Moody told host Maria Bartiromo. "This is the new Progressive Caucus, which are basically communists."

"Look at what they are espousing around the nation, what they are trying to do by cracking down on businesses, [installing] government-run businesses, pushing people out of these areas, making people rely on the government," Sen. Moody continued. "That is communism 101."

"This ain't your daddy's Democrat Party anymore," she declared. "This is people who believe in a different form of government than they do, they work against and do not believe in the United States of America, and you have got to have strong Senators and House members pushing back on this type of activity."
