Montenegro Announces Mismanagement Committee Members
Arizona Speaker of the House Steve Montenegro (R-29) has announced the membership of the recently formed House Ad Hoc Committee on Executive Budget Mismanagement.
Last week, State Representative David Livingston (R-28) issued a statement condemning Governor Katie Hobbs's (D-AZ) supposed mismanagement of Arizona's budget as the Department of Child Safety's (DCS) Congregate Care system is set to go bankrupt.
Gov. Hobbs's office asked for additional funding to the program to be diverted from other sources, to which Arizona Republicans said funds for Congregate Care already exist.
Does Texas have a constitutional right to defy Supreme Court on protecting its border?
"Governor Hobbs's repeated failures to manage the budget responsibly have pushed agencies into crisis after crisis. Her administration's approach is to overspend, ignore reality, and then demand a last-minute bailout. That's not leadership—that's recklessness," said Rep. Livingston, adding, "DCS already has the money it needs to address this failure, and today, we made sure it can use those funds."
Speaker Montenegro has formed the House Ad Hoc Committee on Executive Budget Mismanagement in response.

Senator Ruben Gallego: 99 degrees in March. That’s not normal. Extreme heat killed 602 people in Maricopa County alone last year. We need to treat this like the crisis it is. My new bill, the Excess Urban Heat Mitigation Act, helps cities fight extreme heat by investing in cooling centers and building smarter, heat-resistant infrastructure.

Representative Yassamin Ansari: I am extremely disturbed by reports of Iranian PhD student Alireza Doroudi's detention. The Trump admin must immediately explain why he was detained and provide him his constitutional due process rights.

State Senator Janae Shamp: School Coice is Parental Authority. Period.
State Representative Leo Biasiucci: Obesity has become a major health crisis in America, affecting nearly 93 M adults. We must act to address this growing epidemic, especially for Arizonans over 65. I support @RepDavid efforts to raise awareness on this topic.
