Waltz on 'Signalgate'

National Security Advisor and former Congressman Mike Waltz (R-FL) spoke to Laura Ingraham on Fox News after he appeared to inadvertently add the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg, to a text chain on the Signal messaging app. Key members of the Trump administration included Vice President JD Vance (R), Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Content within the group chat contained information regarding the strikes on the Houthis in Yemen, which has been deemed sensitive but not classified. However, Goldberg stated that he omitted some content for national security concerns.

While on the program, Adviser Waltz took "full responsibility" for adding Goldberg but claims he doesn't know how it happened.

Does Texas have a constitutional right to defy Supreme Court on protecting its border?

He began by saying the Trump administration will get to the bottom of what happened.

Senator Ruben Gallego: We need to ensure teachers have the support they deserve, not cut their funding to give billionaires tax cuts.

Representative Andy Biggs: Congratulations @DrJBhattacharya! President @realDonaldTrump has nominated the best and brightest to lead some of the most important agencies in the world. I’m confident that my friend Dr. Bhattacharya will expose corruption as NIH Director.

Representative Eli Crane: Congress is as weak as you think it is.

Representative Abe Hamadeh: Congressman Hamadeh and his family's story proves the American Dream is alive and well. "I mean they (his parents) had no money, they were entrepreneurs and just through sheer luck and a lot of grit they achieved the American dream."

Representative Greg Stanton: DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said, quote: “We’re going to eliminate FEMA.” Trump responded, "Great job." The Trump Administration wants to leave Americans to fend for themselves on the worst day of their lives.

Representative Yassamin Ansari: Yesterday I introduced the Electronic Permitting Modernization Act to: Reduce inefficiencies at the Department of Interior by digitizing permits Save taxpayers money Makes it easier for Americans to understand the permitting process This is a no-brainer. I came to Congress to serve Arizona and to make government work for us– that's exactly what this does.

Governor Katie Hobbs: Congratulations to @SearsforArizona on your appointment to the Arizona Senate! I look forward to working with you to restore the Arizona Promise for every community across our state.

AZ Attorney General Kris Mayes: Despite multiple court orders, the Trump administration continues to withhold hundreds of millions of dollars in grants to states from FEMA. The court must do everything in its power to enforce these orders.

AZ Treasurer Kimberly Yee: I joined 24 other state financial officers nationally in urging the S.E.C. to recognize the financial risks of DEI policies. We must protect taxpayer dollars, not jeopardize them by prioritizing political agendas like DEI. @SFOF_States

State Representative Michael Way: The people of Arizona deserve 100% transparency and 100% accountability 100% of the time. We are going to leave no stone unturned on getting this done.

State Representative Priya Sundareshan: If AZ Republicans wanted to pass bills that would *actually* protect groundwater in rural Arizona, they would have scheduled SB1425 for hearing, which had bipartisan support from rural elected officials. Instead they are pushing SB 1520 which would forever lock in overdraft.

Maricopa County Supervisor Debbie Lesko: Since entering office as a Maricopa County Supervisor, I have prioritized the issue of election integrity. It’s important to restore and enhance trust in Maricopa County elections. With that in mind, I have led the charge to enact a comprehensive, independent review of the election system and election security protocols. I am also working with the Arizona State legislature to determine needed changes to state law.
