Vice President Kamala Harris's presidential campaign has been marred by controversy since day one, with her apparent flip-flopping on various policy positions now in the spotlight. Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) discussed these shifts in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Evening Edit, suggesting Harris will say anything to get elected.
Host Elizabeth MacDonald began by playing clips wherein Harris endorsed Medicare for all and closing detention centers for illegal aliens encountered at the border despite saying the opposite now and reiterating Harris's ranking as the most liberal Senator in Congress back during her term.
"I think the only thing that is consistent in her positions is that she will say whatever she has to say to whatever group she has to say it to in order to try and gaslight them into voting for her, and I think that is pretty consistent," Rep. Biggs replied, suggesting "the American people are going to really resonate with them. It is going to resonate with them how flawed she is."
MacDonald cited a Washington Post article suggesting Pennsylvania voters remember Harris's previous support for banning the practice of fracking. At the same time, The Hill noted her copying of the "no tax on tips" policy first proposed by former President Donald Trump, much to the surprise of Democrats. Lastly, the New York Times claimed that a speech Harris will give on Friday in North Carolina will be "light on details."
"She has been in the White House for four years. Why can't she come up with an agenda?" asked MacDonald.
"Well, because she has no substance to her," Rep. Biggs answered, "I do not think I am being hypercritical. She has no substance on policies. She is a true-blue, dyed-in-the-wool, hard leftist Marxist. I mean, that is where she really is. That is why you had Medicare for all; she is going to ban private insurance carriers. She is a big Green New Deal proponent, that is why she wants to get rid of fracking, why she wants to stop fossil fuels, and she wants to accelerate the elimination of fossil fuels all to the detriment of the American people."
