Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) announced his "Ethics and Transparency" platform as part of his 2026 gubernatorial candidacy on social media, taking a swipe at Governor Katie Hobbs (D-AZ) in the process.
Posting from his alternate account, Rep. Biggs wrote, "Katie Hobbs is under criminal investigation for an alleged pay-to-play scheme."
Rep. Biggs appears to be referring to the ongoing investigation into Sunshine Residential Homes, a longtime Department of Child Safety (DCS) contractor. As previously covered, Gov. Hobbs is alleged to have improperly awarded the company a $4 million annual payment increase shortly after the firm contributed more than $400,000 to the Arizona Democratic Party and Gov. Hobbs' inaugural fund.
"She's vetoed transparency bills and told Arizonans, 'It's none of your business' who funds her foreign trips," the Arizona congressman continued. "We need serious changes, so I'm introducing my Ethics & Transparency Platform. #AZGOV."
Biggs's platform includes promises not to use an inauguration fund, to sign a vendor transparency bill into law, to issue state protocol fund disclosures, to ban foreign donations in Arizona elections, and to improve transparency in signature collection.
In October, Biggs boasted a massive half-million-dollar haul in the 3rd quarter of 2025 for his gubernatorial war chest, which brought the congressman's 2025 total to more than $1.2 million, with $630,187 remaining in the bank as of September's end.
"As I continue to travel across Arizona and share my vision of freedom for our state, more and more voters are coming on board to show their support," Biggs said in a statement. "It will take someone with the relationships and experience at the State Capitol and beyond to lead our state from Day One."
The Arizona congressman has received strong support from numerous Republicans within the Grand Canyon State and beyond, having already gained the coveted endorsement of President Donald Trump, who had previously lent his blessing to Karrin Taylor-Robson before she dropped out of the race.
