Injuries caused by vaccines are an underreported phenomenon, and attempting to sue for vaccine-related injuries is all but impossible thanks to the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act (NCVIA). Representative Paul Gosar (R-AZ) has introduced legislation effectively repealing the NCVIA and allowing vaccine injury victims to sue.
As noted by Rep. Gosar, a 2012 review of 1,200 scientific papers on vaccine injuries found that 98% of observed injuries were directly or indirectly caused by receiving vaccines. A second 2011 paper suggested that vaccine injuries are undercounted, with only 1% of injuries reported when the number is 10%.
The recent COVID-19 vaccine, which has been under scrutiny for its related mandates, has reportedly caused 20,000 deaths to date, equating to one in every 14,000 people who received the vaccine.

Rep. Gosar explained that in addition to the NCVIA, "Government bureaucrats and scientists responsible for approving vaccines are in bed with Big Pharma, often owning pharmaceutical stocks, serving as consultants, and receiving lucrative contracts from pharmaceutical companies that pressure them to produce favorable results, which is in direct violation of federal law. Worse, many scientists and researchers in government agencies develop patents for vaccines that are approved by the very agencies they work for, creating a conflict of interest and raising serious questions about the impartiality of their decisions."
As a result, the Arizona Congressman's End the Vaccine Carveout Act "would strip vaccine manufacturers of their unjust liability shields."
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a recent ally of former President Donald Trump, has expressed support for the bill, saying, "The four American vaccine makers are criminal enterprises that have paid tens of billions in criminal penalties over the past decade. By freeing them from liability for negligence, the 1986 statute removed any incentive for these companies to make safe products. If we want safe and effective vaccines, we need to end the liability shield."
