United in their stance, multiple Republicans, including Representative Eli Crane (R-AZ), sat in on former President Donald Trump's 'hush money' trial in New York City. They unequivocally condemned it as a politically motivated 'sham' and 'farce,' a concerted effort to keep the former president off the campaign trail. In a recent interview with Cactus Politics, Rep. Crane emphasized this unity, stating that the trial and additional legal troubles faced by Trump show 'they overplayed their hand,' and thus, the American people see through it.

Rep. Crane, expressing his solidarity with Trump, saw 'the same game playing out in multiple trials all over the country, and it is Operation: Get Trump. That is what it is. These guys know they cannot beat it.' His attendance at the trial was not just a duty but an 'honor, ' a testament to the perceived unfairness of the trial and the shared belief that it was a politically motivated attack on Trump.

Additionally, the Arizona Congressman suggested, "The American people know it. They cannot beat this guy in a straight-up matchup, and I think that is what this is completely about. And I think they overplayed their hand so drastically, it is almost embarrassing."

Many conservatives have said the charges against Trump are baseless and lack a clear indication of wrongdoing, highlighting the absurdity of the trials and demonstrating they are politically motivated.

As a result, Rep. Crane said, "If these guys were wise and they wanted to go through with Operation: Get Trump, they would have said, 'Okay, let's- maybe a couple [of] lawsuits where we attempt to put this guy away for ten or fifteen years max. But you know what these guys do? I mean, how many lawsuits, but there is like four major lawsuits going on against President Trump right now all over the country with 750 years behind bars. I mean, the American people are busy, but they are not stupid. They look at this, and they are like, 'What?"

Crane's comments come as Judge Juan Merchan supposedly told the jury that they do not need to unanimously agree to a single charge on which to convict Trump, which Fox News anchor John Roberts said on X (formerly Twitter) that "Judge Merchan just told the jury that they do not need unanimity to convict. 4 could agree on one crime, 4 on a different one, and the other 4 on another. He said he would treat 4-4-4 as a unanimous verdict."

However, legal analysts disputed the claim, noting that the jury must be unanimous in agreeing Trump falsified records with the intent to commit another crime, even if they disagree on which crime he was supposedly covering up.
