Hamadeh Praises Trump Administration's Rejection of Anti-Phoenix Police Report from Biden DOJ

Representative Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) celebrated the Trump Administration's official rejection of a weaponized "pattern and practices" report issued against the Phoenix Police Department, saying, "Promises made, promises kept."

As we covered in late March, the Biden Department of Justice (DOJ) subjected the Phoenix PD to immense scrutiny for supposedly using excessive force against protesters during a 2017 anti-Donald Trump demonstration.

Rep. Hamadeh dismissed the claims as a "desperate witch hunt"  that "sowed distrust, diverting millions from public safety, and discouraging officers - at the very moment when Arizona's communities need them most" and urged FBI Director Kash Patel to rescind the report, as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the Department's actions were lawful.

At the beginning of May, President Trump issued an executive order requiring Attorney General Pam Bondi to "review all ongoing Federal consent decrees, out-of-court agreements, and post-judgment orders to which a State or local law enforcement agency is a party."

With the case against the Phoenix Police Department now dropped, Rep. Hamadeh issued a celebratory statement, saying, "I promised our law enforcement officers before taking office that I would end the weaponization of our judicial system and work with President Trump's Department of Justice to undo the damage wrought by the Biden Administration."

"I am grateful to President Trump and his team of patriotic professionals dedicated to the men and women of our local law enforcement agencies who run to the sound of danger to keep our communities safe and secure," the Arizona Congressman continued. "As I noted in my communications with Trump Administration officials, our officers did everything right, voluntarily cooperating in good faith, opening their records, and participating in lengthy interviews. They were met with stonewalling, mischaracterized testimony, and a final report riddled with glaring inaccuracies."

Hamadeh concluded, "The Trump Administration has now shown that it will not tolerate attacks on our law enforcement officers – either through physical violence or bureaucratic machinations."
