Biggs Says Biden Can Fix Southern Border Crisis if he Wanted, Proposes New Bill

In a recent interview with Cactus Politics, Congressman Andy Biggs made it very clear that this southern border crisis could easily be put to an end if President Biden acted. When speaking about the president, Biggs stated, “He [President Biden] doesn’t even have to do an executive order. He just tells Secretary Mayorkas ‘get it done’ and if Mayorkas doesn’t get it done then he can fire him like we want to fire him,”

Congressman Biggs goes on to say that the key to fixing the southern border crisis isn’t necessarily an issue of policy but enforcement.

“This isn’t [about] policy, it’s [about] enforcement. There’s a distinction. You can do policy all you want, but if no one enforces the policy or the law, you will not have the results,” the congressman said. 

Biggs mentions that his position is that we “should be reducing funding for the Biden Administration.

” The idea, according to Biggs, is about leverage. By reducing the amount of money that the Biden Administration will receive, then there will be more incentive for the Biden Administration to start enforcing border security," he added.

Biggs recently introduced a bill to execute this plan. “My bill funds veterans, armed forces, CBP, ICE, TSA, Air traffic controllers… but it doesn’t fund anything else. That’s the leverage that the founding fathers gave us in the Constitution. They said you control the purse strings. So we say, okay FBI, you’re not gonna get to build that new headquarters you want. Joe Biden, you’re not gonna be able to give 2.5 trillion dollars of tax credits that you promised. The reason is we’re gonna leverage that to get more enforcement. If you want to spend more money, then you’re gonna have to bring the border under control,” the congressman told Cactus Politics.

Along with condemning Biden for his mishaps regarding immigration, Biggs has also continually called for the impeachment of Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for his role in the southern border crisis.
