Jay Feely Declares His Race Against Amish Shah to be 'Capitalism and Free Markets Against Socialism'

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released a new video featuring former NFL player and Arizona 1st Congressional District candidate Jay Feely in its MAGA Majority series, where he frames his race against Democrat challenger Amish Shah as "capitalism and free markets against socialism."

The Video

Within the video, Feely briefly shares his background as a former football player for the University of Michigan and in the NFL, and as a CBS broadcaster before moving into politics.

"I think we need more people in office who truly want to be that civil servant, who do not need the job, and are not going there to enrich themselves," Feely continued, adding that moving to Arizona after his NFL career deepened his appreciation for the Grand Canyon State.

Moreover, he emphasized that "I am running for Congress to try to effectuate change, to stand up for this country, the foundations of who we are, and try to protect them and make sure that the next generation, my kids and my grandkids, have the same opportunities."

After all, "the most important thing to me certainly is the economy and affordability. We need to make sure that we are driving down costs for the younger generation so they can have a family, grow their family, and have confidence in their economic security going forward."

Feely then swipes at Amish Shah as a "Bernie Sanders guy" who "has been for the last ten years. Capitalism and free markets against socialism. Rational people will choose common-sense beliefs and free market capitalism."

Petersen on Feely

"Jay Feely brings business and leadership experience at the highest levels as a true political outsider with deep roots in the Valley," said NRCC spokesman Ben Petersen, adding, "Jay Feely will clean up corrupt Washington D.C. politicians' mess by lowering costs for Arizona families, cutting taxes and tackling our out-of-control national debt."
