Among potential Republican primary voters, Rep.Andy Biggs received 65% of the vote in the August 19–21, 2025 survey, up from 57% in May polling. However, five out of ten voters are still unsure.
Trump's Influence in Arizona
President Donald Trump continues to dominate Arizona's Republican Party, according to the survey. 88% of respondents want the next governor to follow the president's policies, and nearly all respondents (91%) have a very favorable opinion of Trump.
President Trump's endorsements of multiple candidates in the race have increased favorability ratings, maintaining the current polling structure.
About 38% of undecided voters say Trump's endorsements could influence their choice, though many appear to be waiting until closer to the election to make final decisions.
Key Issues for GOP Voters
Immigration and border security top the priority list for Republican voters, with 31% naming it their most important issue. Inflation follows at 23%, while public safety ranks third at 11%.
Other issues, such as healthcare, transportation, and social services, register much lower support among likely primary voters.
The poll also found strong Republican support for tariff policies, with most voters backing increases in import taxes as an economic strategy.
Government Efficiency Popular
A large majority of Republican voters (93%) believe the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is effectively improving federal government operations, showing broad support for government reform initiatives.
However, a growing number of voters express concern about potential economic impacts from trade tensions with Mexico, suggesting some conflict about trade policy effects.
Media Platforms Popularity
The survey tracked how Republican voters get political information. Television remains the top source for political news among GOP voters, though younger Republicans increasingly turn to social media platforms.
Platforms like X and YouTube are gaining momentum as news sources, reflecting a shift toward real-time updates and video content for political information.
Future of the Race
Despite Biggs' current lead, the 2026 Republican primary is still open with 20% of voters remaining unsure. According to the poll, a large number of voters are holding off on making decisions until closer to the election.
As for Karrin Taylor Robson's position, she is making many connections throughout the course of the race. With a year and three months till the election, Robson has time to increase her growth in the candidacy with both likely to be favored in Trump's policy reform.
The survey indicates that Trump's influence will likely remain a significant factor in determining the Republican nominee, with nearly all voters expecting strong alignment between their choice and the former president's positions.
