State Representative Alex Kolodin (R-3) has scored another endorsement in his campaign for Arizona Secretary of State from State Representative Khyl Powell (R-14).
In a post to X (formerly Twitter), State Rep. Kolodin said, "Rep. Powell is a true servant leader who stands on principle. I'm proud to have his support!"
State Rep. Powell was quoted as saying, "Serving beside Alex Kolodin in the Arizona House has shown me that no one works harder or understands our elections more deeply than him."
"As the lawyer‑legislator who led the House Ad Hoc Committee on Election Integrity, Alex has already written and defended the commonsense reforms Arizona voters are demanding," State Rep. Powell added. "His principled fight to secure our ballots and our borders is exactly what the Secretary of State's office needs, and I'm proud to give him my full endorsement."
The Gilbert-Chandler area Representative's endorsement marks the latest in State Rep. Kolodin's lengthy list of endorsers, which has expanded since our previous coverage at the beginning of May.
As we previously covered, the Maricopa County Representative received nods from Representative Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Yuma County Recorder David Lara, State Senator Jake Hoffman (R-15), State Representatives Justin Olson (R-10), Rachel Keshel (R-17), and David Marshall (R-7), and former Representative Nancy Barto (R-15).
Since May, Kolodin has received the endorsements of Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky, State Representative Beverly Pingerelli (R-28), Maricopa County School Superintendent Shelli Boggs, Maricopa County Recorder Justin Heap, Avondale City Councilwoman Jeannette Garcia, Scottsdale Vice Mayor Jan Dubauskas, and State Representative Lisa Fink (R-27).
Despite the initial controversy at the beginning of his campaign, in which he falsely claimed Arizona Republican Party Chair Gina Swoboda endorsed his run for Secretary of State, it is clear that Kolodin has the backing of Arizona Republicans at the national, state, and local levels.
