Lake joins Trump Administration as Director of the Voice of America

Last month, Kari Lake (R) lost her senatorial bid to Arizona Rep. Ruben Gallego (D). Subsequently, she commented that she would be supporting President Donald Trump (R) from the sidelines during the holiday season. Saying that she didn't know "what's next" in her political future, conservatives had an inkling that it wouldn't be the last they saw of her. Lake has now shared that her next venture is joining the Trump Administration as the Director of the Voice of America.

Late Wednesday evening, President Trump announced that Lake would be joining his administration as the next Director of the Voice of America. In a statement, the president-elect informed that "she will be appointed by, and work closely with, our next head of the U.S. Agency for Global Media, who I will announce soon, to ensure that American values of Freedom and Liberty are broadcast around the World FAIRLY and ACCURATELY, unlike the lies spread by the Fake News Media."

Lake was previously a news anchor before launching a career in politics. During her gubernatorial and senatorial campaigns, she would often be at odds with mainstream media officials, accusing them of not fairly or accurately reporting. President Trump championed her 20 years of service as "a beloved News Anchor in Arizona" in his statement announcing her upcoming position.

Taking to social media to share the news, Lake expressed that it's an honor to join the incoming Trump Administration.

She also provided more information about Voice of America, calling it "a vital international media outlet dedicated to advancing the interests of the United States by engaging directly with people across the globe and promoting democracy and truth."

"With an audience of 326 million people, Voice of America delivers information in 48 languages," she added, affirming that the VOA has one clear mission under her guidance, which is "chronicling America's achievements worldwide."
