Biggs Urges Anti-Election Interference Groups, Congress to Act Now

With November just over four months away, suspicions of election interference are renewed again. Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) discussed the Republican National Committee's (RNC) plans to challenge dubious results and spoke of how Congress could act, saying these measures must mobilize "right now" in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Evening Edit.

The discussion began with host Elizabeth MacDonald noting that President Biden is losing African-American voters. However, the White House is supposedly planning mass relief for illegal immigrants who have lived in the United States for ten years or more while sponsoring get-out-the-vote campaigns.

Rep. Biggs thanked MacDonald for highlighting the issue, as Arizona is currently the only state requiring proof of citizenship before registering to vote.

"But when you see that the number of illegal aliens who did not go to benefits at offices and they do not have to provide any kind of real, meaningful identification, and Joe Biden is now using it to recruit and register voters, I think that is something that is really frightening and should be frightening to both sides of the aisle, quite frankly. But it actually kind of proves the point where we say that the Democrats want open borders because the electorate has turned against them and will continue to turn against them," said Rep. Biggs.

MacDonald noted that RNC Chair Lara Trump intends to "build an army of 100,000 poll watchers and 500 lawyers" to monitor and challenge dubious election results, asking what Congress can also do.

The Arizona Congressman stated that two measures were necessary: The first was that Lara Trump's army must act immediately, as waiting until Election Day would be "too late."

"Second thing is, Congress needs to be using the budget, the purse strings, to actually bring this under control, and we need to modify the VRA, the Voting Rights Act, because that gives the putative authority to the President to do what he is trying to engage in. I do not think it gives him direct authority, but that is what he is hanging his hat on. We have to fix this and take away the fundraising to do this type of activity. We should not be allowing registration of voters without proof," Biggs concluded.
