After an uncharacteristic loss to Paul Penzone, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arapio is speaking out. A somber Arpaio opened up about his campaign, his long tenure in office serving the people of Marcopa County, and his future.
The loss was not close. Arapio got an electoral whooping 55% to 45% on a night where most Arizona Republicans fared very well.
In the interview with ABC15, Arpaio expressed his biggest regret:
"I will mention one regret, is the people, they believed in me, they supported me and donated money to me, I don't want to feel like I let them down."
"There were many forces against me this time," he said. "But I still gave it a shot, I didn't leave."
