The race for Arizona's first congressional district is one of the few "toss-up" house races in the country. In what has been a tight race thus far, it looks like there may be some movement in favor of Democrat Tom O'Halleran. The first district is currently help by Democrat US Senate candidate Ann Kirkpatrick, so it is an open seat, but would be a welcome pic up for Republicans in a year where they are attempting to minimize their losses.
An internal poll commisioned by the DCCC has Ohalleran leading Babeu 46% to 36%. While this poll should be taken with a grain of salt cosidering who it was commisioned by, it should be noted that Babue has received no help from the AZGOP, and has essentially no money left.
At the end of September, Paul Babue's campaign had only $90,000 cash-on-hand compared to O'Halleran's $300,000. The DNC and O'Halleran have been running a relentless attack ads against Babue in an effort to hold the seat. Meanwhile the AZGOP has done little to nothing to help the Sheriff.

Babue's spokesman Mike Noble dismised the DCCC poll:
Our own recent survey has this race remaining a dead heat. This is clearly a bogus internal poll Democrats are shopping to distract from the clear lack of enthusiasm for Tom O’Halleran. The fact is they’ve spent nearly $2 million and haven’t moved the needle. Our own internal targeting and (get-out-the-vote) metrics show we are in a good position and we feel confident heading into the final stretch.
