It appears as if Republicans have begun to waive the white flag of surrender to Democrats and their presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton.

Establishment Republicans hate Donald Trump, and are now somewhat assuming that Clinton will be the next President of the United States.

Arizona Senator Senator is the latest Republican to say that he will do everything he can to defeat any of Hillary Clinton's Supreme Court nominees.

Earlier this year, McCain's colleague in the U.S. Senate, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), warned Republicans of the possibility of a Hillary Clinton U.S. Supreme Court. Rubio is by no means a fan of Donald Trump, but is still supporting him over Hillary Clinton, who he feels is the far worst choice of the two.

“I promise you that we will be united against any Supreme Court nominee that Hillary Clinton, if she were president, would put up...This is why we need the majority (in the Senate.)"-Sen. John McCain (R)

McCain is running in a contentious re-election race against Rep. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick (D) who called the senior senator's SCOTUS nominee statement as a “stunning admission of just how far above his country John McCain now places his party.”

“The unprecedented political obstructionism John McCain is now advocating is not just pure, partisan politics at its worst, it’s downright dangerous."- Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick (D) (AZ Republic)

While Rep. Kirkpatrick rails against McCain for announcing his intentions to block Clinton's SCOTUS nominees, the popular Democratic congresswoman forgets that her fellow Democrats also engaged in such political positioning against the Supreme Court picks of past Republican presidents.

Here are just a few examples of Democratic Senators vowing to block SCOTUS nominees

“We should not confirm any Bush nominee to the Supreme Court, except in extraordinary circumstances... They must prove by actions, not words, that they are in the mainstream rather than we have to prove that they are not.”-Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), 2007

“I’m prepared to do everything I can to stop the nomination of Justice Pickering... “We can do a lot better.”-Sen. Chuck Schumer, 2004

There are some who believe that the president, having won the election, should have complete authority to appoint his nominee…that once you get beyond intellect and personal character, there should be no further question as to whether the judge should be confirmed. I disagree with this view."- Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL)

“The record demonstrates that we cannot count on Judge Alito to blow the whistle when the president is out of bounds."-Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA)
