Eli Crane Torches Democrats for Not Attending Unaccompanied Border Children Roundtable

Representative Eli Crane (R-AZ) torched Democrats for not attending a recent House Oversight Federal Law Enforcement Subcommittee roundtable on the trafficking of unaccompanied alien children (UACs) under the Biden Administration.

Opening Salvo

"I want to point out that there are no Democrats in the room," Rep. Crane began bluntly, asking the subcommittee Chair Clay Higgins (R-LA) if he invited them to attend, which Rep. Higgins affirmed.

Rep. Crane pointed out the irony, continuing, "It is weird because [Democrats] are always the first ones to run to the microphone to talk about illegal immigrants, their children, and well-being. Yet when it comes to this topic, UACs, they do not want to show up at all. I don't really think they care much."

Human Trafficking Profiteers

The Arizona congressman turned to roundtable witness Ali Hopper, president & co-founder of GUARD Against Trafficking, asking her who profited the most from human trafficking.

Hopper replied that "a lot of the NGOs [non-governmental organizations] that were granted millions and billions of dollars in awards and mishandled these programs and lost hundreds of thousands of children profited greatly. We are still waiting on accountability for those, and I would say the cartels profited greatly, and there is still a consistent demand for sex and labor of these UAC children."

Who is the Adversary?

Crane then turned to Chenega Defense & Aerospace Solutions' Louis DeTitto to ask, "You said something to the effect, and I am paraphrasing here, in your opening statement: the adversary is the criminal network that commits the human trafficking. Something along those lines. Is that pretty accurate?"

DeTitto affirmed, only for Crane to follow up with, "I would partially agree with that, but that is not really the full truth, is it? How about the politicians who orchestrated the opening of our southern border, who cannot be bothered to show up here today and face the music and listen to the experts? Do you think that they have any ownership in this catastrophe and all these missing kids?"

DeTitto could not provide an answer.
