As House Democrats released three emails from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's estate this week, Arizona Representative Yassamin Ansari criticized efforts to block full disclosure, with Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva's delayed swearing-in holding up a crucial discharge petition.
Ansari directly addressed what she described as political interference in the release process on X.
"It's no wonder Donald Trump is threatening @HouseGOP who've come out in support of the discharge petition—he's directly implicated," Ansari wrote. "This is an egregious cover up. We need the full release of the files NOW."

Ansari's statement came as Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva, expected to be sworn in on the afternoon of November 12, is anticipated to provide the crucial 218th signature needed to discharge the petition that would force a House vote on releasing additional Epstein-related files.
The Emails
The newly released emails, selected from thousands of pages of documents by the House Oversight Committee, include correspondence between Epstein and his associates that mentions President Donald Trump.
In a 2011 email to Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's associate, who was also convicted on trafficking charges, Epstein wrote that Trump spent "hours at my house" with a sex trafficking victim.
Additionally, a 2019 email to author Michael Wolff includes Epstein's claim that Trump "knew about the girls." A third email shows Epstein discussing how to handle media questions about his relationship with Trump.
Trump has repeatedly denied any involvement in or knowledge of Epstein's sex-trafficking operation, stating they were friends at one point but no longer.
With Ansari demanding immediate action, all eyes are now turned to Grijalva's swearing-in ceremony, a turning point in the effort to bring complete transparency to the Epstein files.
