Representative Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) commended President Donald Trump for pardoning 77 people in an alleged "fake electors" plot during the 2020 Election.
Among those pardoned are former New York City Mayor and Trump ally Rudy Giuliani, former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, and several advisers such as Christina Bobb, John Eastman, and Boris Epshteyn.
The 77 individuals were all accused of plotting to submit alternate slates of electors in battleground states such as Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Michigan, to keep Trump in office, but were never indicted on a federal level.
"This proclamation ends a grave national injustice perpetrated upon the American people following the 2020 Presidential Election and continues the process of national reconciliation," the pardoning document reads.
Department of Justice (DOJ) attorney Ed Martin shared the news on X, writing, "Breaking: President Trump pardoned the 2020 Alternative Electors. Thank you: @POTUS for allowing me, as U.S. Pardon Attorney, to work with @WhiteHouse, along with @AGPamBondi, @DAGToddBlanche & SG John Sauer, to achieve your intent—let their healing begin. #Federalist74"
In response, Rep. Hamadeh expressed on social media that "questioning our elections isn't a 'crime.' It's your right as an American. It was practically a moral imperative after the disaster that was 2020. The Biden administration's witch hunt against these patriots is a stain on history. Thank you to the Trump administration for giving them the vindication they deserve."
Rep. Hamadeh has famously questioned his 2022 loss to Attorney General Kris Mayes, and revealed at the beginning of October that he had been targeted by the Biden Administration's "Quiet Skies" program.
"We looked at it, and one of the times that I was flagged was December of 2022," Rep. Hamadeh recalled in comments to Fox News. "And what is interesting about that is that that was during the time period that I was challenging the result of my election in 2022 when I was running for Attorney General [of Arizona]."
