Hamadeh Says Threat of Iranian Sleeper Cells Validates Big Beautiful Bill

Representative Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) stated in a recent X (formerly Twitter) post that the threat of potential Iranian sleeper cells activating in the United States after the weekend strikes is all the more reason for Congress to support the so-called "Big Beautiful Bill."

"Iranian sleeper cells are a real concern," Rep. Hamadeh began, adding, "But so is the risk posed by every unvetted illegal immigrant Biden allowed to enter our country. Congress must support @ICEgov & its mission & pass the Big, Beautiful Bill to fund @POTUS's mass-deportation agenda."

The Fox News article attached to Rep. Hamadeh's post contained comments from former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Jonathan Fahey after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a warning of potential terror attacks in the United States conducted by Iranian proxies who had entered the country under the Biden Administration.

"I think one thing that's really concerning about that: One, they weren't doing any really meaningful vetting in the last administration," said Fahey, adding, "The second part of it is, you know, we have probably 2 million known gotaways come through the last administration, and the people that went through the non-ports of entry, we knew they went through but nobody caught them, so we have no idea who went through."

The Arizona congressman's response to the article echoes similar comments made by Representative Brian Mast (R-FL), who similarly said the threat of Iranian sleeper cells activating is "another great reason for all Republicans and Democrats to rally around the Big Beautiful Bill, because if, in fact, under the Biden Administration, all of these people came in across our border illegally, some of them could be members of Iranian cells."

Iran has retaliated against the United States by launching six intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, half of which were quickly intercepted. The three that did strike the base did not inflict any casualties.
