Eli Crane Wants Iran Conflict 'Wrapped Up as Soon as Possible'

Representative Eli Crane (R-AZ) discussed the Iran conflict in a recent appearance on One America News Network's Matt Gaetz Show, saying he wants to "see [the war] wrapped up as soon as possible."

Rep. Crane makes a point of speaking as a combat veteran who deployed to the Middle East several times, admitting that "starting another Middle Eastern war was not on my bucket list of things I wanted to see accomplished in this administration."

Nevertheless, Rep. Crane acknowledged the difficulty in making decisions in the Oval Office, noting, "I believed, for a long time, that Iran was a problem, and at some point, it was going to be have to be dealt with."

Still, even as he does "not have access to all of the intelligence that the President has," the Arizona congressman says he is "hoping and praying that we get out of there as soon as possible, because I know a lot of Gold Star mothers already, and I have a lot of friends that did not come home from the Middle Eastern wars that we have already fought."

"And so I want to see this thing wrapped up as soon as possible," Crane commented. "But that being said, I would like to see the President declaw and defang the Iranians who have been a problem for a very long time."

The ongoing conflict has generated mixed feelings among Americans, with Senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) saying early in March that while he is fully supportive of the United States winning and that Iran is indeed a threat, "is it the most important national security threat right now? Does it mean that we have to go to war without, at this point, any actual reasoning? The President is not giving us a solid reason. We do not know the actual exit plan."
