Kari Lake (R) has officially been sworn in as Director for Voice of America (VOA), posting to X (formerly Twitter), "Looking forward to serving America, streamlining the United States Agency of Global Media and everything it oversees."

The former Senatorial candidate and news anchor earned the position in December by then-President-elect Donald Trump, who said in a statement, "[Lake] will be appointed by, and work closely with, our next head of the U.S. Agency for Global Media, who I will announce soon, to ensure that American values of Freedom and Liberty are broadcast around the World FAIRLY and ACCURATELY, unlike the lies spread by the Fake News Media."

In an interview, Lake accepted the new post with honor, telling Steve Bannon, "We've got a great story to tell, and over the next four years, we're gonna have an even better story to tell."

"I'm looking forward to telling of the renewal of America to the world," she added, noting that she is also "looking forward to making sure that we're covering what's happening with this administration in a fair and accurate manner as we should as journalists."

Later with Breitbart, Lake further expressed a desire to "returning it to really, really its glory days of when we could bring down communism, change hearts and minds around the globe without having to fire a single bullet, and putting out fair and accurate information, and a fair and accurate portrayal of America to our overseas audience, which is really what it is."

"Its audience is solely overseas, non-American, and we want to make sure we're doing a really quality job, improve on what we're already doing right, and make it even better," Lake concluded.

Before Trump's appointment, Lake had hoped to support his agenda in the Senate but narrowly lost to Senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ).
