Biggs, Gosar, Crane, Hamadeh Condemn Hunter Biden Pardon

President Joe Biden (D) pardoned his son Hunter on Sunday, much to the outrage and disgust of Republicans, including Arizona's Representatives Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Eli Crane (R-AZ), and Representative-elect Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ), who expressed their anger on X (formerly Twitter).

"Hunter Biden is a criminal—but his corrupt father won't let justice be served under an Administration that follows the rule of law. Joe Biden will go down as one of the most corrupt presidents in American history," said Rep. Biggs in his first post about the pardoning on Sunday evening.

In a second post, Rep. Biggs shared a clip of White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre insisting in May that President Biden would not pardon Hunter, which he captioned with, "They lied to you over and over again. Joe Biden is a disgrace to the American presidency."

Monday morning, the Arizona Congressman reposted a May 31st post from President Biden where he said, "No one is above the law," continuing it with, "Unless you're the criminal son of a corrupt president. Then you get sweetheart plea deals and pardons for crimes spanning over a decade."

Rep. Crane also replied to the May 31st post, saying, "Unless your last name is Biden."

Finally, the most recent post from Biggs reposted a 2018 appearance by Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) on CNN, who had suggested then-President Donald Trump pardoning family members was an obstruction of justice, with Biggs replying, "(D)ouble standards."

Rep. Gosar's reaction was terse, simply saying, "Proxy Pardon," possibly suggesting the President's move was to cover his own supposed tracks in Hunter's business dealings.

A second tweet from Rep. Crane about the pardoning was a response to a June 13th post by journalist John Harwood, who had said, "People who insist Biden will pardon Hunter after specifically ruling it out are telling on themselves; they can't imagine someone acting on principle and keeping his word."

Crane mockingly repeated the "acting on principle and keeping his word" portion of Harwood's tweet.

Finally, Rep.-elect Hamadeh tweeted, "Joe Biden is leaving his presidency even more disgraced. A two-tiered justice system has no place in America. No more lies. No more special treatment. It's time to restore law and order."
