Lake Says 'Democrats are Sick of the Democrat Party,' Why Latino Voters Want Trump

Support for former President Donald Trump among Latino voters is unprecedented with Election Day tomorrow, and Democrats are looking nervous. Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake (R) discussed this popularity in a weekend appearance on Fox News's Jesse Watters Primetime, saying, "Democrats are sick of the Democrat Party."

Host Jesse Watters began the segment by playing clips from The Daily Show, in which actor and comedian John Leguizamo unsuccessfully tried to turn a panel of pro-Trump Latino voters away from him.

Lake suggested the efforts by Democrats to portray Trump as racist are ineffective because voters are concerned about the border and the economy more than anything else.

"I am here in one of our districts which has the biggest Latino population, and guess what? They do not find it racist to want to be able to put food on the table, and they do not consider themselves Nazis because they want to have a secure border, and they actually want to know who is coming into our country," said Lake.

Additionally, she described how, while visiting a voting center, "one of the first people that came up to me was a mother who is a Mexican immigrant. She came here, and she is a legal immigrant. She is fed up with what is happening; she is tired of not being able to afford clothing for her kids and groceries for her family. She is tired of the open border, and she just said to me, 'I am voting for you and Trump, and I am a registered Democrat."

"The Democrats are sick of the Democrat Party because the Democrat Party has been taken over by... I do not know who, but they are not representing the hardworking middle class and working-class people of America," Lake continued.

Watters then asked the Arizona Senate candidate if she believed there was a moment in recent weeks that reverberated with Arizona voters, such as Trump's appearance in Madison Square Garden or on The Joe Rogan Experience or President Joe Biden infamously calling Trump supporters "garbage."

Lake replied that the economy was still at the forefront, "but when [Biden] came out and called people who want to vote for President Trump 'garbage,' I think that resonated with people. It really resonated with people, and my opponent, [Representative] Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), has called the people who have voted for President Trump 'the worst people in the world' and 'dumb."
