Americans for Prosperity (AFP) has honored Arizona Reps. David Schewikert (R) and Juan Ciscomani (R) with the "Pioneers for Prosperity" award. The two lawmakers were celebrated for being policy champions during the 118th Congress.
AFP is a political advocacy group whose goal is to "reignite the American Dream." In receiving the "Pioneers for Prosperity" awards, Reps. Ciscomani and Schweikart were recognized for advancing conservative principles and policies while countering attempts to grow the size of government and take money out of taxpayers' paychecks.
Specifically, the lawmakers were praised for supporting bills like the Employee Rights Act, the Strategic Production Response Act, the Lower Energy Costs Act, the Health Care Fairness for All Act, and other bills that aim to ensure common-sense solutions to improve Americans' lives.

In a statement, AFP-AZ State Director Stephen Shadegg championed the Republican congressman, saying that "the Copper State has reliable representation thanks to the principled leadership of Congressmen Schweikert and Ciscomani." "It's not always easy, but they stake out principled positions and stand up for hardworking Arizona taxpayers every day," Shadegg added.
"We're proud to commemorate their leadership during the 118th Congress and hope to continue working collaboratively into the 119th Congress as we work to keep taxes low and reignite the American Dream for Arizonans."
AFP-AZ is engaged this election cycle, and with the 2024 election over a month away, they are focusing on provided expanded housing in the Grand Canyon State as well as shortening the residency period for foreign doctors trained outside of the United States. This would help increase the number of practitioners nationwide.
Rep. Schweikert has previously won the award, and other winners include Texas Reps. Pete Sessions (R), Beth Van Duyne (R), Chip Roy (R), and Florida Reps. Maria Elvira Salazar (R), and Byron Donalds (R).
