Lake Scores Major Endorsements in Senate Bid

Kari Lake's (R) Senatorial campaign has gained significant momentum, as she has received endorsements from Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), and National Republican Senatorial Committee Chair Senator Steve Daines (R-MT).

The Daily Caller received a comment from Rep. Gaetz, who praised Lake as "MAGA to her core and cannot be bought by the establishment," evidently referencing the scandal that broke in late January, wherein Arizona Republican Chair Jeff DeWit appeared to bribe Lake into not running for Senate this electoral year.

"I am proud to endorse her for the United States Senate in Arizona. I am very much look forward to watching her shake up the halls of power," Rep. Gaetz told the Daily Caller.

Similarly, Sen. Paul expressed the desire to see Lake "shake things up" in Washington, telling the Daily Caller that she "has the policies, the drive, and desire to defeat the Washington War Machine and restore American liberties."

Meanwhile, Politico reported on what Sen. Daines had to say about Lake, whom he called "one of the most talented candidates in the country" who was "building out an effective campaign operation that has what it takes to flip Arizona’s Senate seat in November."

An anonymous GOP donor also told Politico that they were "impressed" by Lake, saying "she was not at all like the caricature that’s sometimes painted of her in the media. She was very engaging, she was very warm" after meeting her at the National Republican Senatorial Committee's winter meeting in Palm Beach, Florida.

News of these endorsements came less than a day after Lake's Democratic challenger, Representative Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), recently claimed he was falling behind in the polls against her by six points and asked for donations.

Despite this claim of a six-point gap, FiveThirtyEight only placed Rep. Gallego one point behind Lake when Senator Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) is included, and two when Sen. Sinema is excluded as of February 1st.

Nevertheless, the Lake campaign does appear to be gaining momentum as November inches closer, although a lot can happen in the eight months between now and then.
