Abe Hamadeh Says 2020 Maricopa County Voter Hack Proves Election Wasn't Secure

Representative Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) shared on social media that a recent revelation about a 2020 hack of the Maricopa County voter database proves the election was not secure, and that anyone who still believes that it was should not be taken seriously.

The Context

The Trump Administration declassified files on Thursday showing that, in 2020, a Fountain Hills individual scraped 633,000 voter files from Maricopa County's database, 930 of which contained sensitive information on domestic violence victims, law enforcement officers, and judges. However, the scrape did not include ballots and no evidence suggested votes were changed.

Despite this, even with the suspect's confession and the fact that the scrape was heavily flagged by multiple intelligence agencies, the Biden Department of Justice and local prosecutors declined to so much as charge the suspect with the crime in July 2021, and the case was closed in 2023.

Hamadeh's Response

"We are long past the point where anyone still parroting 'the most secure election in American history' about 2020 should be taken seriously," Rep. Hamadeh wrote in a post to X.

Rep. Hamadeh summarized the story, adding, "That failure to prosecute didn't just bury a crime. It left the same vulnerabilities wide open for years afterward. Maricopa was breached. He confessed. The system protected the perpetrator over the voters."

"ENOUGH. Prosecute the crimes. Secure the systems. Give the people the free and fair elections they deserve," he concluded.

Previous 2020 Revelations

In May, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said that "there's a ton of evidence that the election was rigged. That's not something the DOJ needs to tell you about. There's been evidence about that for many, many years."

While he clarified that the evidence exists, investigation will yield more definitive proof.

In response, Hamadeh commented, "Patriots across the country were viciously branded 'election deniers' for daring to point out obvious evidence of election fraud. Their vindication is coming."
