Eli Crane Warns of 'Islamic Violence' Under Sharia Law

Representative Eli Crane (R-AZ) discussed the threat of Sharia law and the theological underpinnings that influence Islamic violence in a recent appearance on Real America's Voice's Just The News posted to social media.

The Context

The discussion began with Rep. Crane expressing his opinion on the renewed conflict with Iran, reiterating that "this has been a pretty conflicting issue for me personally," a point he previously made in May with Arizona radio host Jason Zinzilieta.

Like he told Zinzilieta, Rep. Crane emphasized that Iran's leadership is "an apocalyptic death cult," and while he and many Americans did not want another war in the Middle East, "my prayer is for the President and his team as they prosecute this war. I'm hoping it comes to an end very soon."

The hosts of Just The News noted that part of America's rationale for military action has been keeping conflicts away from American soil, and that Americans do not wish to import Sharia law and Islamic culture, the driving goal of the Sharia-Free America Caucus that the Arizona congressman is part of.

The Threat of Sharia Law

Crane concurred, describing how the Caucus recently hosted author and theologian Joel Richardson, who alleges in his 2011 book The Islamic Antichrist that the Mahdi, a messianic figure in Islamic eschatology, aligns with descriptions of the Antichrist found in the Book of Revelation.

"It's actually very scary how closely those two mirror each other," Crane said, adding, "in that Caucus, we talk a lot about how Sharia law is not compatible with the U.S. Constitution."

He emphasized that "what many in our conference and that Caucus don't understand is the prophetic implications and some of the prophecies within Islam that often drive a lot of their behavior."

Nevertheless, Crane concluded by noting that more members of Congress are joining the Sharia-Free America Caucus, because "at the end of the day, most of us do not care who you pray to. We do not care where you come from, what color you are, but we do care that if you come to this country, you assimilate to our values, our Western values, and you don't try to undermine the Constitution and our rule of law here."
