Andy Biggs Applauds Arrest and Deportation of 10,000 Foreign Gang Members

Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) applauded a recent announcement that 10,000 foreign gang members illegally present in the United States have been arrested and deported in a social media post.

The Context

On Wednesday, Fox News relayed an announcement by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has located, arrested, and deported 10,000 members of transnational criminal organizations, many of whom were charged with crimes such as murder, racketeering, drug trafficking, robbery, and extortion.

The ten thousandth man arrested, Javier Hernandez Rosas, is allegedly a member of the notorious MS-13 and originally from Mexico.

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said, "Many of these gang members were released into our country by Joe Biden. These vicious criminals murdered, assaulted, robbed, and terrorized innocent Americans for sport. Thanks to the Secure America Act, ICE is turbocharged to arrest even more gang members and criminals from American neighborhoods."

Biggs's Response

Rep. Biggs replied to the post on X, writing, "10,000 suspected gang members arrested and removed from American communities - a huge benchmark of success for this administration."

"Thank you to all the federal agents working to apprehend these dangerous individuals. Innocent citizens are grateful," Rep. Biggs added.

Previous Responses to Gang Border Crossings

In April 2025, the Arizona congressman alleged that the Venezuelan government was facilitating the entry of members of Tren de Aragua (TdA), another notorious gang from Latin America, which Biggs argued was a justifiable reason for President Donald Trump to invoke the 798 Alien Enemies Act as a means of targeting members and affiliates for deportation.

Earlier this June, Biggs warned, "The main highway through Mexico comes on a branch just south of Arizona. Arizona is the focal point, and the cartels know," further pointing out that unfinished stretches of border wall on tribal lands, where overlapping jurisdictions among federal, state and tribal authorities have created what he described as wide-open gaps in enforcement.

More than 1,000 cartel-connected safe houses remain active in the Phoenix area alone.
