Rep. Abe Hamadeh
Representative Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) excoriated Senate Republicans for not passing the SAVE America Act in a recent social media post, writing that Senate Republicans "hate their own voters."
Rep. Hamadeh's X post contains a link to a Daily Caller article explaining why the SAVE America Act has not yet passed, in which Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) allegedly stated that some Senate Republicans dislike President Donald Trump too much to cooperate with his agenda.
In addition, Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) got into a heated argument Wednesday with Sen. Thune and Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) about the bill, although Sen. Thune denied it in a statement to the Daily Caller.
Sen. Lee further suggested that while the 60 votes necessary to gain cloture are nonexistent, the bill passed by the House, which still has majority support, can be passed on the Senate floor.
"If the majority leader were to announce we are going to debate this till we pass it, we would get to the point of passage," Lee told Fox News.
Simultaneously, Sen. Thune said that Trump's proposal to attach the SAVE America Act to Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) reforms only has 48 votes.
Needless to say, regardless of why the SAVE America Act remains in the Senate, Rep. Hamadeh is not happy with the alleged rationale that Senate Republicans hate Trump.
"It's not Trump these Senate Republicans hate—it's their own voters," the Arizona congressman declared. "Voters sent them to Washington, DC, with a clear mandate: Help President Trump secure their right to vote. Yet they refuse to pass the SAVE America Act. Every fraudulent vote they allow is a direct assault on every lawful voter. This isn't negligence—it's contempt. If they won't fight for the people who put them in office, they don't belong there."
