Abe Hamadeh Commends ICE Operation Cracking Down on Illegal Alien Truckers

Representative Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) shared a news story on social media detailing Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) crackdown on illegal aliens who had been issued commercial driver's licenses, commending the success of the operation.

"From May 11-15, Border Patrol's Yuma Sector launched Operation Checkmate, cracking down on illegal aliens with commercial driver's licenses operating big rigs," Rep. Hamadeh posted. "36 illegal aliens are now off our Arizona streets & highways."

"A big rig in the hands of an illegal alien who often can't read English road signs is a deadly weapon moving at deadly speeds. Our communities and roads in Arizona are safer tonight because of this operation," Rep. Hamadeh concluded.

As RedState reported, 52 illegal aliens were caught operating big rig trucks in just five days, 36 of whom were arrested as they were on the road.

Notably, of the 36 arrested while driving, seven lacked commercial driver's licenses, and the 29 who did possess a license had them issued in blue states such as California, Washington, and New York.

Hamadeh has been a fierce critic of Democratic treatment of illegal aliens, previously saying in March that Democrats were "panicked" about ICE at polling stations, suggesting they were wanting illegal aliens to vote.

"There is no other reason Democrats are so panicked about ICE patrolling near polling stations than their fear that illegal immigrants won't be allowed inside them to vote," the Arizona congressman posted. "In other words, they're suing and fighting to block enforcement that stops illegal voting, while doing their best to ensure illegal immigrants can vote anyway."

More recently, Hamadeh renewed calls for the SAVE America Act to pass in May, expressing, "After their humiliating Virginia redistricting debacle, the radical left has declared all-out war on election integrity.
