RNC Suggests 2024 DNC 'Autopsy' Will Not Affect JoAnna Mendoza's Platform

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has recently released its "autopsy" of the 2024 Election and why they lost, but the Republican National Committee (RNC) is suggesting that JoAnna Mendoza, who is running for Representative Juan Ciscomani's (R-AZ) 6th congressional district seat, will learn nothing from it.

DNC Chairman Ken Martin released the report after much delay, which pinned the Democrats' 2024 Election defeat on several points, such as "A persistent inability or unwillingness to listen to all voters," a poor economy, failure to adequately respond to Republicans' reference to Kamala Harris as "border czar," and her support for free gender reassignment surgeries for illegal aliens.

Additionally, the report accuses the Biden White House of failing to adequately prepare Harris after President Joe Biden's departure from the race for health reasons.

In response, Democrats are criticizing the "autopsy," with Martin himself saying it "does not meet my standards, and it won't meet your standards, but I am doing this because people need to be able to trust the Democratic Party and trust our word."

The RNC is using the reaction as Democrats displaying a lack of self-awareness, and JoAnna Mendoza is proving a target for this line of attack.

Back in March, the RNC accused Mendoza of supporting the "Defund the Police" movement after she appeared to express that view in a 2020 interview, saying, "I support the reallocation of funding to programs that would allow people to live their best lives."

The Mendoza campaign denied that this meant she was in favor of defunding police altogether, telling Fox News Digital that she "has been on the record for years that police need MORE resources to do their jobs – not less – including body cameras and training. And she has repeatedly stated that she does not support defunding the police."

Moreover, Mendoza called for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to "stand down" in a January interview with Cochise County Voice in the wake of Renee Good and Alex Pretti's deaths in Minneapolis.

"First and foremost, what we need to address is we need a stand down for ICE and all ICE operations right now because an external, independent investigation needs to happen," Mendoza said at the time.

In response, RNC spokesman Nick Poche told Cactus Politics, "Democrats are refusing to learn the lessons of 2024 and are doubling down on every unpopular idea that led to rampant inflation, endless tax hikes, and spiking energy costs. JoAnna Mendoza is still all-in on opening the border, shutting down immigration enforcement, and defunding the police because they are a vessel for the radical left, not Arizonans."
