Rep. Abe Hamadeh
Representative Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) is demanding accountability on social media after Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), declassified information showing the politicized nature of allegations made by a whistleblower against President Donald Trump during his first term in office that led to his first impeachment.
In 2019, a whistleblower came forth alleging that President Trump pressured Ukraine to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden for the latter's business ties to the country by threatening to cut off aid. Democrats considered this worthy of impeachment, filing charges that December, although Trump was ultimately acquitted in 2020.
New information revealed in the recently declassified documents by Gabbard suggests that the whistleblower was acting as a political operative, relying solely on second- and third-hand accounts of Trump's alleged malfeasance, had previously worked with Joe Biden, and disliked specific figures in Trump's orbit.
Despite this, Trump's lawyers were unable to use these documents in his defense because they were classified by then-Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) and former Inspector General Michael Atkinson.
Rep. Hamadeh commented on the news in a post to X (formerly Twitter), writing, "A registered Democrat flagged for political bias in newly declassified ICIG memos, who admitted 'ZERO direct knowledge' of the events, was weaponized as the so-called 'whistleblower' in one of the biggest HOAXES in American history."
"Yesterday, @DNIGabbard released memos proving the complaint was pure hearsay, with critical evidence of bias deliberately hidden from the public, Congress, and Trump’s defense during the Ukraine impeachment SHAM," Rep. Hamadeh continued.
The Arizona congressman further suggested that "we haven’t reached the bottom of this COUP attempt, nor delivered real justice to those who orchestrated it, enabled it, participated in it, or covered it up. The American people deserve full transparency and accountability, and this Administration will deliver both."
At the beginning of March, Hamadeh applauded the FBI's expansion of its probe into the 2020 Election in Arizona and Runbeck Election Services, posting, "In June last year, Congressman Hamadeh wrote to AG Bondi about disturbing allegations of blank ballots commingled with voted mail ballots in Runbeck's Maricopa County warehouse. Part of the ongoing pattern of disastrous elections in State 48. The FBI has now seized election records in its expanding probe."
