Ruben Gallego is on 'Team America,' Says Trump 'Rationale' in Iran Conflict is not Convincing

During an appearance on Fox News's Special Report, Senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) vowed that he is firmly on the side of the United States in the ongoing Iran strikes, yet the "rationale" from the White House is inadequate.

Sen. Gallego argued that "Iran is a national security threat," questioning, "Is it the most important national security threat right now? Does it mean that we have to go to war without, at this point, any actual reasoning?" "The President is not giving us a solid reason. We do not know the actual exit plan," he added.

Sen. Gallego, who is a combat veteran of the Marines, assured that he does not want "another generation of veterans" to endure "a very bad experience."

President Donald Trump recently claimed that Iran was "weeks away" from nuclear weapons, and that an attack would quickly follow if the United States and Israel did not act preemptively.

The Arizona Senator acknowledged this was plausible and that "it is not that I do not buy it, they [the White House] are not selling it."

"Operation Epic Fury" has already cost six Americans their lives, and America's allies are also being attacked.

Gallego noted that intelligence reports indicated there was no immediate threat and that Congress was not informed whether any imminent threat existed. Thus, "that is why the President should come and ask for authorization to go."

"You always want to root for the best outcome for America, whether it is Trump, whether it was Biden, whoever was in charge," Gallego admitted, clarifying that his opposition to the current strikes is not motivated by anti-Americanism.

"I am on Team America, I want to see the best outcome for America, I want to keep America safe," Gallego concluded "That also includes making sure that we are very smart about the wars that we go to."
