Andy Biggs Leading Healthcare Reforms

Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) is leading one of many national health initiatives, the Health Savings Accounts for All Act, in what is believed to be a fight to discontinue "pouring money into the failing Unaffordable Care Act."

Back in August of 2020, Biggs introduced the bill to give Americans the freedom to choose how to use their money for healthcare. Along with the elimination of previous requirements, one: recipients must be enrolled in high-deductible health plans with savings accounts, two: removing yearly limits on savings accounts, three: health savings accounts will ultimately allow people to pay for premiums.

In a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), the House Freedom Caucus emphasized the number of health reform bills they plan to introduce to address the country's needs.

The Caucus continues to highlight President Donald Trump's reform initiatives, beginning with allowing patients to be in charge of their personal healthcare money.

They plan to reinstate President Donald Trump's "POWER TO THE PEOPLE," rather than their money being given to insurance companies.

Continued Initiatives

Additionally, the letter contributed to the efforts of Representatives Greg Stuebe's (R-FL) ACCESS Act and Senator Rick Scott's (R-FL) More Affordable Care Act, with co-companion Representative August Pfluger (R-TX), to stabilize the patient-first healthcare guideline.

Both bills would ensure direct support to families through transparency and growing these initiatives across the country. This allows families to understand costs before purchasing. Alongside, it is said that these services will not permit abortion resources through Rep. Chris Smith's (R-NJ) No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act.

These bills are centered on what works best for the recipients, "not what Washington dictates." Furthering health reform, the letter addresses additional representatives nationwide who have come forward to fight for lower premiums.

"Republicans have solutions, and it's time to implement them," Biggs had written on social media.

Eliminations and Reforms

The House Freedom Caucus plans to eliminate fraud and abuse in the healthcare system, explaining that "these reforms build trust, cut waste, and put Americans first." Fighting previous initiatives in supplying healthcare subsidies to undocumented citizens.

They are asking Speaker Johnson to bring the reforms to the floor immediately. Alongside Biggs, the letter was signed by Chairman Andy Harris (R-MD) and fellow members Eric Burlison (R-MO), Clay Higgins (R-LA), and Eli Crane (R-AZ).

"Let's get it done," Biggs concluded.
