Abe Hamadeh Wants to 'Wipe Mexican Cartels Off the Face of the Earth'

Representative Abe Hamadeh has issued a statement of support regarding reports that the Trump administration is planning military operations against drug cartels in Mexico.

On X, Hamadeh expressed support for the reported plans, calling it "excellent news." "The narco-terrorists are the barbarians at the gates. Pushing poison and chaos into our country."

He specifically pointed to the state's role in drug smuggling, stating that the state "has been a pipeline for their operations." Hamadeh concluded by emphasizing that "it's time to wipe the Mexican Cartels off the face of the earth."

Many drugs coming into the United States pass through Arizona, which makes cartels a significant concern for state leaders and people living in communities close to the border.

Military Plans

Hamadeh's comments came in response to Townhall’s report citing multiple U.S. officials who said the Trump administration has begun planning to send American troops and intelligence officers into Mexico.

According to these reports, the mission would involve elite special operations forces and CIA officers conducting operations, including drone strikes against cartel targets.

The reported approach would differ from previous U.S. policy, which involved supporting Mexican forces rather than conducting direct military operations.

Officials told NBC News that some training has already started, but troops won't be sent anytime soon. Leaders are still discussing exactly what the mission would look like and haven't made a final decision yet.

The potential military operations would represent a significant policy shift in how the United States addresses drug cartels operating in Mexico. Still, the administration has not provided a timeline for when a final decision on the military operations will be made.

As discussions continue, officials in border states like Arizona will be watching closely as these plans develop, remaining vigilant on what they could mean for communities affected by cartel activity.
