Biggs on Shutdown Demand by Union
Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) highlighted a recent demand from a government employee union calling for Senate Democrats to pass the "clean" continuing resolution (CR) in a post to X (formerly Twitter).
As NBC explains, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), the largest union representing federal government workers with 820,000 members, issued the statement, with its President, Everett Kelley, saying, "It's time for our leaders to start focusing on how to solve problems for the American people."
"Because when the folks who serve this country are standing in line for food banks after missing a second paycheck because of this shutdown, they aren't looking for partisan spin," President Kelley added.
