Abe Hamadeh Eulogizes Charlie Kirk, 'Proud to Call Him an Arizona Son'

Representative Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) eulogized conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was murdered during an event at Utah Valley University, during a recent appearance on The Afternoon Addiction with Garrett Lewis, saying, "We are proud to have called him an Arizona son."

"I want to extend my condolences and prayers to all of the family, friends, and supporters of Charlie," Rep. Hamadeh began, adding, "And you know, we knew him very well in Arizona, because he was an icon and a legend out here. We are proud to have called him an Arizona son, and how he made this his adopted state."

Rep. Hamadeh further emphasized how Kirk "cared so much about our country, and to have his life taken away like that in front of so many college students, where it all began for him, on these college campuses, is beyond tragic."

"And I want people to know that this is not normal," the Arizona Congressman continued. "What is happening, the targeted political violence, is despicable. A lot of rhetoric that has happened, and this is what I fear most, is what type of situation, and I could not have imagined it happening to Charlie. He was just 31 years old and leaving behind a wife and two beautiful babies. And you just really forget how young he was because he accomplished so much in a short time."

Hamadeh then described how he was in his office in Washington when he heard the news, saying he and "a lot of people here trying to comprehend everything and take it in. But you know, for us Arizonans, I believe it hits us differently, right? Because we know what Turning Point is and the amazing events he has put on. And for him to have been killed on a college campus in Utah, that is where you are supposed to share your diverse opinions and discuss things. He was not just talking to people on our side, but talking to the left as well. That is what political discourse is supposed to be."
