Lake Discusses How to Downsize Voice of America Amidst Challenges from Within

Global Media Advisor Kari Lake discussed her ongoing mission to downsize and eventually eliminate the Voice of America (VOA) in a recent appearance on Real America's Voice's Bolling!

Lake posted the clip to X (formerly Twitter), saying, "I don't see how anyone can make the argument that an agency being paid for by the American taxpayer should not, at the very least, be in alignment with our national priorities & our national policy."

"Right now, the policy is about peace," Lake continued, adding, "Things need to change at the VOA. We can preserve what's worth saving at this agency while still rightsizing it."

Within the clip, Lake described how "We are doing what the President has asked in his March 14th executive order, which is to bring this agency to its minimum, what is required by statute. Nothing more, nothing less."

Moreover, she emphasized that the eventual goal is to eliminate the agency altogether, and thus Lake is "working to effectuate that."

"There are places we can take what is valuable in this agency," said Lake, "and I believe it would be the best fit under the Department of State, where then we could make sure what is going out over the airwaves to other countries is at least in alignment with what our national security policies are."

Finally, Lake noted that "it is so rare in D.C. for any agency to ever be rightsized. So you know in D.C., they just grow, grow, grow, grow, and once it is mission accomplished and they are done, they never say, 'okay, we can scale back now because we have accomplished what we needed to do in this country or with this language. Now we can scale back and focus on something else.'"

"They never want to do that until a man named Donald J. Trump stepped foot into the Oval Office and said, 'It is time that we reduce the size of the federal bureaucracy or we won't survive as a country,' and we are in the process of doing that," Lake concluded.
