Hamadeh Releases Video Explaining Bill to Ban Ranked Choice Voting

Representative Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ) recently released a short video explaining House Resolution 3040, which aims to ban ranked-choice voting, in a post to X (formerly Twitter).

"With House Resolution 3040 - Preventing Ranked Choice Corruption Act, Congressman Hamadeh is leading the charge to BAN Ranked Choice Voting at the federal level. The Congressman's staff made a video to help walk you through it!" said Rep. Hamadeh's post.

In the video, Nico Delgado, one of Rep. Hamadeh's staff members, stated that ranked-choice voting "produces devastating results where no one's top candidate gets elected."

"This leads to unpopular and unqualified candidates winning office," Delgado continued, adding, "Ranked choice voting is also just time-consuming and expensive. Cities like San Francisco have spent millions of dollars on RCV, and even after spending all of that money, it still takes weeks for them to get their final results. The voters deserve better."

Rep. Hamadeh originally introduced the Preventing Ranked Choice Corruption Act at the end of April, calling the system "flawed" and arguing that it gives the minority party an unfair advantage if the majority party is split between two top favorites.

"The same Democrat pawns who support allowing non-citizen voting without voter ID and same-day voter registration also want to turn our democracy into a rank choice voting scheme," the Arizona Congressman said, adding, "Their motives are clear – they do not want to help Americans vote - they only want to help corrupt politicians win. In Arizona, we see tremendous amounts of liberal out-of-state dollars pour into our state every year to try to alter our election processes. Fortunately, our citizens see through the lies of expensive glossy mailings and reject Ranked Choice Voting."

In June, Hamadeh demanded an investigation into Runbeck Election Services, which supposedly mixed blank printed ballots with returned voted mail ballots being prepped for tabulation from several western states.

Specifically, he urged emphasis on several key areas of investigation to be answered, including how the blank ballots got mixed in, Runbeck's security measures against incidents such as these, and how it may have skewed election results in Maricopa County and other states.
